An Interview with N.B of N.B Music

With an ability to rap, sing, write, act, and even tell a joke, the Douglas, GA native is always finding ways to expand his brand. Starting around age 4, N.B was bit with the entertainment bug. He would perform for all who would listen. He became a man on a mission to be seen and heard in the entertainment industry. Not only has he made his music a dream come true, he has added acting to his resume. N.B made his acting debut on TruTv’s South Beach Tow, followed by HBO’s “Ballers”, and Alvin and the Chipmunks 4. Recently, I had an opportunity to speak with N.B and get a little personal.

TAW: So let’s just dive right in. If you weren’t doing music, what else would you be doing?

N.B:  I would definitely put more focus and time into acting.

TAW: If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently?

N.B: God blessed me with the ability to do music so from the age of 4, I never felt like I was going to do anything else but music and entertaining.

TAW: What do you like to do in your free time?

N.B: I enjoy a little Madden ’18 on the PS4 and enjoy family time. I’m currently working on launching my own podcast, along with a few other side projects.

TAW: Do you get nervous before performances?

N.B: Sometimes but all I need is a couple of shots of Patron and that nervousness goes away, and it’s lights, camera, action lol.

TAW: In your experience thus far, what is the best piece of advice in this business you actually followed? And one you didn’t follow, but now know for sure that you should have?

N.B: Trial and error is your best teacher, nothing happens overnight so if you really believe in yourself, your dreams will manifest. Earlier in my music career I should have been more humble, that is something that I regret.

TAW: What personal advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue this career?

N.B: Focus on your craft, build your social media following, and don’t chase record labels. Let the record labels chase you.

TAW: So let’s say we finish the interview and you step outside and find a lottery ticket that ends up winning $10 million, what would you do?

N.B: First of all I would start by taking care of everybody that believed in me and stuck with me throughout my career; my mom, my previous assistant, and homeless veterans. I would also invest in minority businesses so they too can see first generational wealth, and finally start my own record label so I can groom and develop the next Superstar for years to come. As you can see I want to do things for other people and put me last to show my appreciation and the love I have for helping others

TAW: Any Final Shout-Outs?

N.B: I want to give a special shout-out to The Assistant’s World for giving me the opportunity for the world to know a little piece about me. I also want to thank God for blessing other people to still be interested in knowing about me and what I’ve got going on so stay tuned. It gets better.

I’d like to thank N.B for taking time out to speak with me, for more information, music, and updates about N.B check out the links below.
